How long does it take to learn basic conversational Vietnamese?
Vietnamese is generally faster to pick up for daily conversation than languages like Mandarin or Japanese, since it uses the Latin alphabet and simple grammar. Our Basic Conversational Vietnamese course runs 10 lessons and is designed to get you speaking with confidence within that timeframe.
Is Vietnamese hard to learn for English speakers?
The main challenge is the tonal system, since a single word can carry different meanings depending on pitch. The grammar side is actually forgiving, with sentence structure close to English and no verb conjugation to memorise, which is why guided pronunciation practice matters more than rote study.
